Roundup Ingredient Glyphosate May Cause Cancer

July 13, 2017

Video Transcription

Tighe Wilhelmy with Velawcity here to discuss a significant development in the Monsanto litigation regarding its weedkiller product, Roundup, also referred to as MDL# 2741. The majority of claims filed to date allege there’s a link between Roundup and non-Hodgkins lymphoma.

To make matters even worse for Monsanto, starting July 7th, 2017 Roundup’s primary chemical ingredient, Glyphosate, will be added to California’s Proposition 65 list of chemicals for being known to cause cancer.

This means California could become the first state to require Roundup to have a warning label indicating it’s known to cause cancer.

Mansanto has obviously appealed Judge Kristi Kapetan’s decision from July 3rd, 2017 and will argue Roundup doesn’t cause cancer.

This case has the attention of many people considering Roundup officially contains an ingredient on a list of carcinogens and is used on the crops of more than 160 countries, including the United States. Victims most commonly affected by this situation, include farmers and landscapers, especially those in the farming belt of America.
