Tighe Wilhelmy with Velawcity to discuss recent Transvaginal Mesh litigation developments overseas. In what has easily been one of the most significant medical device disasters in history, Transvaginal Mesh, continues to torture women worldwide.
Most recently, an 800+ woman class action lawsuit began on July 4th, 2017 in Sydney’s Federal Court against Johnson & Johnson Medical Australia along with several of their subsidiaries. Unfortunately, this is only a fraction of the women who are likely experiencing TVM complications. Medical sources say there have been about 90,000 to 100,000 pelvic mesh implants sold in Australia.
The United States currently has over 120,000 pending actions against various Transvaginal Mesh manufacturers. The range of adverse effects women experience, include but are not limited to, pain, erosion, bleeding, infection, vaginal scarring and organ perforation.
